Country music singer-songwriter Ella Langley had a great night on Sunday (May 17), winning seven trophies at the 61st Academy of Country Music Awards at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Langley won Female Artist of the Year, Song of the Year (Artist and Songwriter nominations), Single of the Year (Artist and Producer nominations), Music Event of the Year and Artist-Songwriter of the Year awards.
The first honor of the Academy of Country Music Awards Sunday was for the coveted song of the year, given to Langley for the crossover hit "Choosin' Texas," presented to her by Michael Bublé.
"I'm not at a loss for words very often," said Langley in her speech. "Thank you to the fans. I don't know why you latched on to this song but thank you for doing it."
Langley also earned the single of the year award thanks to "Choosin' Texas." "Don't Mind If I Do," her duet with Riley Green, won the music event of the year award.
After receiving the female artist of the year award, Langley said: "I'm trying to get to say something but I can't. I would not be standing up here without the encouragement of so many women."
Cody Johnson won the Entertainer of the Year award, for which Langley did not earn a nomination.
