Bret Michaels Becomes Latest Artist To Pull Out Of Trump's Great American State Fair

Bret Michaels says he is pulling out of President Donald Trump's Great American State Fair.

The Great American State Fair, organized by the Trump administration to celebrate the United States' 250th anniversary, is scheduled to be held on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., during June 25 - July 10.

Michaels was one of the eight artists listed to perform at the Great American State Fair.

But five of them - Michaels, Morris Day And The Time, Young MC, Martina McBride, and The Commodores - have already withdrawn and only one artist in the lineup - Vanilla Ice - has reportedly confirmed participation.

Michaels announced his decision in a lengthy statement posted on Instagram on Friday.

The Poison frontman said his "shows have never been about politics. They're about giving people a place to come together, have a great time and forget about life's stresses for a few hours."

"Unfortunately, what was presented to us as a celebration of our country has evolved into something much more divisive than what I agreed to be a part of," he added. "Concerns have also been raised regarding the safety of my fans, band, crew, family and myself, including threats that are completely unfounded and unforgivable."
