Maren Morris is set to release Hero: A Second Wind, an expanded edition of her debut album, Hero, on June 26th via Columbia Nashville/Legacy Recordings.
The release, which will mark the tenth anniversary of the Grammy-nominated album, will feature some previously unreleased songs and demos recording during the Hero era.
"Hero is officially 10! When I think back on making this record, I think about the people who helped me find my voice," Morris shared on social media. "[Late producer] Busbee was one of those people for me, a true hero in my story. He believed in me before a lot of people did, and he taught me that the best songs come from telling the truth. I still hear him in these songs every time I play them."
She continued, "This album was also shaped by so many incredible songwriters and friends who poured their hearts into these stories with me. HERO became what it is because of the people behind it. The ones who showed up, stayed honest, and made me braver as an artist. These songs changed my life, and a big part of that is because of the people who helped create them. The fact that these songs became part of your lives too has meant more to me than I could ever put into words."
"To celebrate ten years, I wanted to share a few pieces from the Hero era that never made it out into the world. Two new songs from the vault and four never-before-heard demos," she added.
Morris will celebrate the release with a special performance on "The Today Show"'s Citi Concert Series on July 3.
