Adobe Systems Launches Adobe Director 11 Software - Update

Tuesday, software services company Adobe Systems Inc. (ADBE) announced the launch of Adobe Director 11 software, a major upgrade to the company's multimedia authoring tool.

The company stated that the latest software contained a flexible and easy-to-use authoring environment helping multimedia authors, animators and developers to create powerful interactive applications, games, e-learning and simulation products. The company added that with Director 11 or a combination of Director 11 and the Adobe Shockwave Player, users could create and publish content for the Web, CDs/DVDs and the desktop simultaneously and also enabled content creators to localize applications.

Adobe Systems expects Adobe Director 11 to be available by the end of March 2008. French, German and Japanese versions of the product are expected to be shipped by June 2008. The full product is priced at $999 and the upgrade from the prior three versions at $299. The product will be available to educators at $299 and to students in select regions including the U.S. at $99.

ADBE closed Friday's trade at $34.67, down $0.29.
