Smarter Travel Media, LLC, part of the TripAdvisor Media Network and an operating company of Expedia, Inc. (EXPE), announced that it has acquired Airfarewatchdog, which is a source of airfare sales. Airfarewatchdog.com evaluates and aggregates the best airfare deals from across the web on all airlines, including those that sell their fares only on their own web sites.
Smarter Travel said that the terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Airfarewatchdog will operate as an independent site and is based in New York City. Airfarewatchdog's eight employees will remain with the company.
