Malaysia's industrial production rose 4.3% year-on-year in April, faster than 3.5% recorded in March, the Department of Statistics reported Thursday.
The statistical office said that a 5.6% increase in the manufacturing index followed by 4% rise in the electricity index led to an increase in the overall production index. However, the mining index declined 0.3%.
Meanwhile, industrial output fell 2.5% month-on-month. The cumulative growth for the period January-April stood at 5.5% over the corresponding period of the previous year.
