Lionsgate gets home DVD rights for Comcast Entertainment Group's popular series

Tuesday, independent filmed entertainment company Lionsgate (LGF) announced that it has formed a first-look partnership with Comcast Entertainment Group, which operates the cable company's West Coast entertainment properties. Under the partnership, Lionsgate obtains the home entertainment distribution rights to popular series airing on E! Entertainment Television, The Style Network and G4.

The first series to be released on DVD is "Sunset Tan" on August 5, followed by "Keeping Up with the Kardashians," "Snoop Dogg's Father Hood" and "Kimora: Life in the Fab Lane", the company said.

The company said its plans to transfer these programs to DVD would allow the consumer to watch them with a host of extra-added features whenever they want.

LGF is currently trading at $10.39, up $0.03, or 0.29% on NYSE.
