Iteris granted $2.7 Mln Bus Rapid Transit Project for the Orange County Transportation Authority - Quick Facts

Iteris, Inc. (ITI) announced that, as part of a multidisciplinary team, it has been selected by the Orange County Transportation Authority to implement a real-time transit passenger information system and to develop the design for an advanced transit signal priority system for three Bus Rapid Transit corridors in Orange County, California. The company said that the project is worth $2.7 million and work is expected to begin on the project immediately.

Iteris noted that Orange County Transportation Authority, or OCTA plans to implement bus rapid transit services along three corridors in Orange and Los Angeles Counties by the end of 2010. The three corridors include Harbor Boulevard, Westminster/17th Street, and a third corridor running along State College Boulevard and Bristol Street from the city of Irvine to the Brea Mall. The three Bus Rapid Transit corridors will combine to form a system that is over 73 miles long with approximately 110 station stops spaced approximately one mile apart.
