MGM Mirage (MGM) said its board has elected James Murren as its chairman and chief executive officer, effective December 1.
Murren replaces Terrence Lanni, who retired after serving as Chairman and CEO for more than 13 years. Lanni had recommended Mr. Murren as his replacement. Lanni will continue as a board member and will join the Diversity Committee.
Previously, Murren served as president and chief operating officer of the company. Murren also is a member of the MGM Mirage board and its Executive Committee. He also serves as a member of the Board for Delta Petroleum.
