Honeywell International Inc. (HON) announced that the United States Air Force's or USAF recent announcement to procure a total of 319 MQ-9 Reaper aircraft will result in additional TPE331-10 engine orders worth more than $400 million over program life.
The company said that the Honeywell TPE331-10 engine delivers 900 Shaft Horsepower in the Predator and its compact design easily integrates into the platform. The company said that engine poower and operability meets stringent needs of unmanned aircraft.
Separately, Honeywell announced that Boeing will begin offering standardized version of Honeywell's Runway Awareness and Advisory System, a part of its new SmartRunway safety program. The company said that this program provides visual and aural alerts, available beginning in late 2009.
