Hawaiian Airlines June Traffic Rises - Update

Tuesday, Hawaiian Airlines, Inc., a subsidiary of Hawaiian Holdings, Inc. (HA), reported an increase in both traffic and capacity for the month of June.

For the month, traffic increased 7.4% to 701.63 million revenue passenger miles, or RPMs, from 653.41 million RPMs in the same period last year. Capacity for the month was 825.35 million available seat miles, or ASMs, 3% higher than 801.48 million ASMs last year.

The Honolulu, Hawaii-based airline's load factor was 85%, up 3.5 points from 81.5% in the same month last year.

For the second quarter, traffic increased 0.8% to 2.05 billion RPMs from 2.03 billion RPMs last year. Capacity for the period was up 1.8% to 2.44 billion ASMs from 2.39 billion ASMs in the same period last year. Load factor decreased 0.8 points to 84.3% from 85.1% a year ago.

Year-to-date, traffic was 4.01 billion RPMs, higher than 3.97 billion RPMs. Capacity increased 3.3% to 4.83 billion ASMs from 4.67 billion ASMs last year.

Year-to-date, load factor decreased 1.9 points to 83.1% from 85% a year ago.

HA is currently trading at $5.61, down 1.23%, on the Nasdaq.
