Davis Service Group Plc (DVSG.L) announced the appointment of Peter Ventress, currently President of Staples International, as Chief Executive.
The company's Board said they were notified earlier this year by Roger Dye, the Chief Executive, of his intention to retire at the end of 2009. Since then, the Board has conducted a search to identify and secure a high quality successor.
Peter will join Davis on 1 November 2009. He will receive a comprehensive handover from Roger, allowing him to take up his full responsibilities from 1 January 2010.

The Federal Reserve policy session was in focus as it was the first to be led by the new chief Kevin Warsh. In Europe, central banks of the U.K. and Switzerland announced their rate decisions. In Asia, the Bank of Japan drew attention for its policy moves, while data out of China threw some light on the state of the economy.
