A Metallica concert in Peru is closing down a local university, with fans camping out in front of the venue.

According to LivingInPeru.com, a group of fans spent the night outside the University of San Marcos Stadium in Lima, setting up tents and sleeping bags.

The concert is set to take place on Tuesday.

The university has suspended all activities for the day of the concert so that the event will run better.

The Lima show is the first stop on Metallica's tour of Central and South America. They will also play in Costa Rica, Panama, Columbia and Venezuela.

Metallica released their last studio album, Death Magnetic, in 2008. The record, their ninth studio effort, reached number one on the Billboard 200.
