Warner Brothers has tapped Guy Ritchie to develop a new take on the story of King Arthur. "Trainspotting" writer John Hodge is also reported to be involved in the project.

Ritchie and Hodge will use Thomas Malloy's text "Le Morte d'Arthur" for inspiration, according to Variety. The text, which was published in 1485, features a number of stories about King Arthur.

While no casting has been announced, the producers of the film adaptation of "300" are said to be involved in the project.

Richie is also expected to direct the sequel to his hit, "Sherlock Holmes." The director is also lined up to helm an adaptation of the DC comic book series "Lobo."
