Pfizer Inc. (PFE) announced that it has completed its acquisition of Excaliard Pharmaceuticals Inc., a privately owned biopharmaceutical company focused on developing novel drugs for the treatment of skin fibrosis, more commonly referred to as skin scarring.
In November 2011, Pfizer had agreed to acquire privately held Excaliard Pharmaceuticals in a move to enhance its drug pipeline. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Pfizer said it will make an upfront payment and contingent payments if certain milestones are reached.
