(RTTNews) - Emulex Corp. (ELX: News ) reported second quarter non-GAAP net income of $0.26 per share after the bell Thursday, compared to $0.15 per share in the prior year. The consensus estimate was for EPS of $0.22. Third quarter non-GAAP EPS is expected to be between $0.17 and $0.19, compared to the consensus estimate of $0.15.
Emulex gapped open higher Friday and climbed during the first half hour of trade. The stock rose further around midday and finished up by 1.39 at $10.66 on the highest volume of the year. Emulex has been gaining ground for the past month and closed at nearly a 10-month high.
