"The Help" swept the 18th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday night.

The movie won the Best Ensemble Cast award, with Viola Davis winning the Best Actress (Motion Picture) and Octavia Spencer taking the Best Supporting Actress (Motion Picture) awards. The movie's wins trumped those of "The Artist," which was expected to sweep the awards (yet still landed a Best Actor, Motion Picture award for the film's lead actor, Jean Dujardin).

Upon accepting her award, Davis noted that the "stain of racism and sexism" is not just for people of color or women, but is "all of our burden."

Other big winners at the ceremony included the cast of "Boardwalk Empire" (which won a Best Cast, TV Drama award) and "Modern Family" (which won a Best Cast, TV Comedy award).
