Jack White has dropped the single "Love Interruption" and announced his first solo album.
The single is available for digital sale on iTunes and will be released in a special vinyl edition (with the B-side "Machine Gun Silhouette") on February 7.
White also revealed that his first solo album, Blunderbuss, will be released on April 23. Making his announcement nearly a year after revealing the breakup of his band The White Stripes, White said of the album: "I've put off making records under my own name for a long time but these songs feel like they could only be presented under my name. These songs were written from scratch, had nothing to do with anyone or anything else but my own expression, my own colors on my own canvas."
He added that he "couldn't have released [this album] until now."
