US Airways Jan. Traffic Up - Quick Facts

US Airways Group Inc. (LCC) reported growth in traffic, capacity and load factor for the month of January 2012. Mainline revenue passenger miles totaled 4.63 billion, up 3.8 percent from 4.46 billion last year. Mainline capacity in January grew 3.1 percent to 5.9 billion available seat miles or ASMs from year ago's 5.7 billion ASMs, with Mainline passenger load factor edging up to 78.8% from 78.3% in January 2011.

For the month of January, US Airways' preliminary on-time performance as reported to the U.S. Department of Transportation was 85.0 percent with a completion factor of 99.2 percent.

US Airways' President Scott Kirby said, "Our January consolidated (mainline and Express) passenger revenue per available seat mile (PRASM) increased approximately 10 percent versus the same period last year."
