Leslie Carter is dead at the age of 25.
The sister of Aaron and Nick Carter was found unresponsive by her father in his upstate New York home on January 31, where she was living with her 10-month-old baby in an attempt to stop using prescription drugs. Her stepmother Ginger noted that Leslie had fallen in the shower earlier in the day and had slept most of the day.
An incident report of her death notes that Carter is suspected to have died of a drug overdose, with three kinds of prescription drugs (one to treat schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, a muscle relaxant, and an anxiety disorder medication) found near her body.
The family issued a statement noting: "Our family is grieving right now, and it's a private matter. We are deeply saddened for the loss of our beloved sister, daughter and granddaughter, Leslie Carter." Preparations for her funeral are under way in western New York.
