NBC has picked up a new pilot from J.J. Abrams.

The sci-fi show, "Revolution," was created by Abrams and Eric Kripke ("Supernatural") and has been described by NBC as "a high octane action drama from J. J. Abrams following a group of characters struggling to survive and reunite with loved ones in a world where all forms of energy have mysteriously ceased to exist." Abrams, Kripke and Bryan Burk will executive produce the drama, which has a $2 million penalty attached to it if it does not air.

The project is being produced by Warner Bros. TV and marks the second pilot of the season for Abrams' Bad Robot company (their first pilot of the season is the CW's "Shelter," which will be scripted by Mark Schwahn).
