MRV Communications Names Barry Gorsun As CEO

Carrier Ethernet provider MRV Communications, Inc. (MRVC) Friday named Barry Gorsun as Chief Executive Officer.

As previously announced, Chris King, the company's CFO and interim CEO, would remain with the company through the later of March 30, 2012 or the filing of the company's Annual Report on 10-K.

MRV also announced the appointment of David Stehlin to the position of president of the company's Optical Communications Systems or OCS division, effective immediately. For the past year, Gorsun had served as president of the OCS division.

MRV said Gorsun had over 30 years of technology management and M&A experience including operational and executive management roles within technology companies.

Kenneth Traub, chairman of the Board of MRV, said," The Board of Directors has great confidence in Barry to lead MRV and execute our strategic plan to maximize shareholder value. Barry, Chris, Dave and the rest of the MRV executive leadership team have our full support."

On January 23, Chatsworth, California-based MRV had announced the appointment of Traub as chairman and Robert Pons as vice chairman. Separately, the company entered into Separation and Transition Agreements with each of Chris King and Blima Tuller, MRV's VP, Finance.

MRVC.PK last traded at $0.9760, up $0.0060 or 0.62%, has traded in a range of $0.80 - $1.86 over the past year.
