(RTTNews) - Anadarko Petroleum Corp. (APC: News ) reported fourth quarter adjusted net income of $0.85 per share after the bell Monday, compared to $0.38 per share last year. The consensus estimate was for EPS of $0.61.
Anadarko Petroleum gapped up Tuesday and climbed during the first half of the morning. The stock extended its gains in the afternoon and closed higher by 4.34 at $87.21, with volume at a 3 1/2 month high. Shares surged past resistance and set a new high for the year.
