The U.S. Justice Department is poised to clear Google Inc.'s (GOOG) acquisition of Motorola Mobility Holdings Inc. (MMI) as early as next week, the Wall Street Journal has reported citing people familiar with the matter.
The report added that antitrust enforcers in the U.S. and Europe remain concerned about Google's commitment to license Motorola patents to competitors on fair terms.
Google, which agreed to acquire Motorola Mobility for a total of about $12.5 billion in August 2011, then announced that it expects to close the deal by the end of 2010 or early 2011.
