Florence and the Machine took home the Best Solo Artist and Best Track awards at this year's NME awards, beating out Adele, as well as Noel Gallagher and Lana Del Rey.
Band frontwoman Florence Welch accepted both awards for the song "Shake It Out." Welch was grateful for the awards, although she noted she was not sure whether she belonged in the solo category.
"It's amazing. I've wanted to win an NME Award for so long . . . I'm really incredibly grateful," Welch said in accepting the awards. "It is slightly strange because I've never been quite sure myself about whether I'm a solo act or a band. I've always thought of it as a project that I've started."
