Aerosmith guitarist Brad Whitford has confirmed that the band will debut one of the tunes from its forthcoming release in a new film set for release this summer.

While speaking with the Times-News, Whitford said the rock legends are also excited to hit the road this summer.

"I think people are going to see a lot of Aerosmith later in the year," Whitford told the news source. "We've got a new song that's gonna be used in a major motion picture this summer, so that's probably the first new music fans will get to hear. We may even debut it on 'American Idol' in May. We're definitely planning on touring the U.S. later in the summer."

The group hit the studio with their producer from the 1970s, Jack Douglas, and Whitford added that the album should be finished soon.

"As for the new CD, the music is done," he said. "We're just waiting to get some of the vocals added in."
