A host of musicians will pay tribute to the Rolling Stones in honor of the band's 50th anniversary at New York City's Carnegie Hall on Tuesday, March 13.
Jackson Browne, Steve Earle, Taj Mahal, Ronnie Spector, members of TV on the Radio, Marianne Faithfull, the Mountain Goats, Ian Hunter and others will recreate every track on the Stones' hits compilation Hot Rocks: 1964-1971.
Earle, speaking with Billboard, spoke on his track selection:
"I picked ['Mother's Little Helper'] because it's literally the first song I learned to play on guitar . . . You know, I wanted my guitar to sound like Jimi Hendrix, but I couldn't make it sound like that. So I gravitated to the Stones, the Beatles . . . the stuff that sounded like my guitar."
