Union Pacific Corp. (UNP) Thursday reported appointing Eric Butler its executive vice-president in charge of marketing and sales, and separately, named Gayla Thal senior vice president for Law and general counsel. Butler succeeds Jack Koraleski, who recently took over as acting president and CEO as a result of chairman Jim Young taking medical leave.
Thal, who was until recently vice president for Law and chief compliance officer, replaces Michael Hemmer, who is expected to retire later in 2012. Additionally, Union Pacific appointed Bradley Thrasher to take up Butler's role as vice president and general manager for Industrial Products.
