"Eyes Open," the Taylor Swift written contribution to the Hunger Games soundtrack was performed by the pop phenom before 12,000 fans at New Zealand's Vector Arena in Auckland.
Before debuting the song, Swift teased, "You don't think I'd get in trouble if I played it now?"
It is one of two tracks, including "Safe & Sound," Swift added to the score.
Swift's lyrical motifs on the track match the film's dystopian tenor:
"Yesterday we were just children / Playing soldier just pretending / Dreaming dreams with happy endings / In backyards, waging battles with the wooden swords / But now we've stepped into a cruel world / Where everybody stands and keeps score."
Hunger Games is due in theatres on March 23. Kid Cudi, Miranda Lambert, the Decemberists and Arcade Fire are also featured on the soundtrack.
