Black Keys Drummer Apologizes To Nickelback Fans

Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney has apologized to Nickelback fans for ripping into the Canadian rockers earlier this year. The mea culpa came during an interview MTV Canada, and while Carney wasn't generous, he says he never meant to insult anyone.

"I didn't mean to single them out," Carney told MTV News Canada. "It just came out. There's much worse bands than Nickelback, maybe."

The interviewers continued on to press Carney about his outspoken views on the music industry, to which he responded by justifying his previous comments:

"I don't like bad music, but look, I've got a lot of friends and not one of them has a Nickelback record. I'm not a small minority."

Carney initially slammed Nickelback during an interview with Rolling Stone:

"Rock 'n' roll is dying because people became OK with Nickelback being the biggest band in the world."
