George Strait's latest track from Here for a Good Time, "Love's Gonna Make It Alright," has hit number one on the Billboard Country Songs chart, making it the 59th track of his to accomplish the feat.
It is the second consecutive song from the album, following the title track, to hit number one.
"Love's Gonna Make It Alright" was written by Al Anderson and Chris Stapleton. Strait told theboot.com that, even though he doesn't write all his own stuff, it is important to pick the right songs:
"I've always thought that whether I'm writing or not, I've gotta pick the best songs, whether or not they're mine. I'm not gonna sing them just because I wrote them. I've gotta find the best songs to make the best record I can. I think all of these songs deserve to be on the record."
