Soundgarden will headline the UK festival Hard Rock Calling later this summer. The Seattle grunge band joins Bruce Springsteen and Paul Simon as the festival's headliners.
While Soundgarden had been on a 14-year hiatus, they reunited in 2011 and are set to release a brand new album later in the year.
"Soundgarden was an innovator in the Seattle grunge music scene, and we are honored to have them take the 2012 Hard Rock Calling stage and add a different genre of music to an already incredibly diverse lineup," said Hamish Dodds, President and CEO of Hard Rock International.
Hard Rock Calling will run from July 13 to 15, with Soundgarden headlining the opening night (July 13), Bruce Springsteen the second night (July 14) and Paul Simon closing the show on July 15 by performing his classic album Graceland in its entirety.
Tickets for Soundgarden's Hard Rock Calling headline set will go on sale at 9am on March 30.
