Dave Grohl is just one of many celebrities who appear in Tenacious D's video "To Be the Best," a teaser for the band's upcoming new album Rize of the Fenix.
Val Kilmer, Tim Robbins, Jimmy Kimmel, Maria Menounos and Josh Groban also make appearances.
The new video promotes the D's return to the music world after a six-year hiatus and details the contrasting fortunes of members Jack Black and Kyle Gass after the release of their film The Pick Of Destiny.
The clip explains that while Black embarked on Hollywood stardom following the film, Gass became a failure who wound up in an insane asylum until he breaks out and turns up at Black's mansion toting a gun.
Tenacious D will release Rize Of The Fenix on May 15.
