Chris Christie Pleas For Springsteen Show At New Atlantic City Casino

New Jersey governor Chris Christie is hoping to get Bruce Springsteen on the bill for the opening night of Atlantic City's new Revel Casino.

The venue is set to open Labor Day weekend and, in a press conference earlier this week, Christie said it would be a gesture to the working class if Springsteen appeared.

"I would make a direct plea to Bruce: he missed out on the opportunity to open this place," Christie said. "I think Labor Day weekend at Revel would be an incredible show of support for his home state."

"Cut out Labor Day weekend and come here to Revel, which would be a strong sign of support for those working men and women [who have jobs at the new casino resort]," the governor added.

Christie, who claims to have seen Springsteen in concert 126 times, says he plans to attend the Boss' upcoming show in Philadelphia and may ask him personally to show up:

"If I get a chance to talk to him personally Thursday, I'll ask him directly," Christie said.
