Ireland's unemployment rate decreased to the lowest level in ten months in March, data released by the Central Statistics Office showed Wednesday.
The unemployment rate dropped to 14.3 percent in March from 14.4 percent in February. The latest figure was the lowest since April 2011, when the jobless rate was 14.2 percent.
On a seasonally adjusted basis, the number of persons signing on the live register dropped 0.7 percent to 434,800 in March from 437,800 in the previous month. In March, 57.5 percent of all claimants on the Live Register were short-term claimants.
The number of persons below 25 years of age registered on the live register dropped to 74,400 in March from 75,900 in February, the agency said.
