The Eagles will be presented with an honorary doctorate from the Berklee College of Music. The College President Roger Brown will present the California band with the award at the school's commencement ceremony on May 12 at Boston University's Agganis Arena.
Also being recognized at the event will be bluegrass star and recent Robert Plant collaborator Alison Krauss, as well as Ethiopian multi-instrumentalist and composer Mulatu Astatke.
The honorees are being acknowledged for their successful and influential careers and their lasting cultural contributions. The Eagles, Krauss and Astatke will be treated to a special performance of their music by Berklee students on the evening of the commencement.
Previous celebs who have received honorary music degrees from the school include Aretha Franklin, Chaka Khan, David Bowie, Quincy Jones, Smokey Robinson, Steven Tyler and U2's The Edge.
