Estonian Inflation Accelerates In March

Estonia's consumer price inflation accelerated in March, data released by Statistics Estonia showed Monday.

The consumer price index increased 4.4 percent on an annual basis in March, faster than the 4.2 percent growth recorded in February.

Food and non-alcoholic beverages prices rose 2.9 percent annually, while clothing and footwear priced moved up 5.1 percent. There was an 11 percent growth in housing costs during the month, and a 5 percent increase in prices in the transport sector.

On a monthly basis, consumer prices advanced 1 percent in March, the agency said.
