In a recent interview with Teen Vogue, Katy Perry raised some eyebrows when she remarked that "fame is disgusting" and that she was "tired of being famous." Now, she has clarified those comments, via Twitter.
"O the joy of something verbally said being taking out of complete context in print. This is why there's a continuous (love/hate) for the media world."
"You see, the fame quote was spoken in jest (which is typical of me) but it's not really about that. The fact is: my success, & you my fans have afforded me the most incredible luxury: to grow as an artist & a human. That, I could not be more grateful for," she added.
In the Teen Vogue interview, Perry had noted that she enjoys making music, but that she had tired of the attention in the media, calling fame a "disgusting byproduct of what I do."
Katy Perry is also the 3rd most "followed" person on Twitter with 17,543,604 followers, according to Twitaholic.com.
