Portugal's annual inflation slowed to the lowest level in seven months in March, data released by Statistics Portugal showed Thursday.
Inflation eased to 3.1 percent in March from 3.6 percent in February. In January, inflation was 3.5 percent. The latest rate was the lowest since August 2011, when consumer price rose 2.9 percent.
Month-on-month, consumer prices moved up 1.2 percent in March, faster than the previous month's 0.1 percent rise.
At the same time, the harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP), measured under the EU methodology, increased 3.1 percent annually in March, after rising 3.6 percent in the previous month. Month-on-month, the HICP increased 1.2 percent during the month.
