Kentz Corp. Ltd. (KENZ.L) said it has been awarded the mechanical, electrical and instrumentation contract for Syncrude's Aurora North Mine Relocation, or AMR, Project, in Fort McMurray, Alberta.
Kentz noted that its contract with Syncrude Canada Ltd. is valued at around C$128 million and is included in the Group's backlog figure of $2.44 billion as of the end of February 2012. The company added that its scope includes planning and executing all structural, mechanical, electrical, piping and instrumentation work associated with this project.
Kentz had chosen KBR Wabi, a subsidiary of KBR, Inc., to execute the mechanical scope of work for the AMR Project. Meanwhile, Kentz will self-perform all electrical and instrumentation work in addition to managing the work as general contractor.
