Gerard Butler is in talks to star in the upcoming action thriller "Manhunt." The plot is centered on a F.B.I. team on a manhunt for a domestic terrorist in the mountains of North Carolina.

The terrorist in question, a local survivalist, has avoided arrest with the support of the local population while continuing his attacks on the federal government.

The authorities enroll the help of a local bear hunter to capture the terrorist. But once the team enters the woods, the tables are turned on them, and they must survive the terrorists' feints and traps.

Butler's role was not defined in the report; it may be the case that he is either the bear hunter or the terrorist.

Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby wrote the script of the Breck Eisner ("The Crazies") directed picture.
