JSW Steel Q4 Crude Steel Production Up By 26%

JSW Steel Ltd. reported fourth-quarter crude steel production stood at 2.07 million tons, up by 26 percent over the corresponding month a year-ago.

During the quarter, Rolled products-flat production was 1.49 millon tonnes, up by 13 percent at over last year, while Rolled products-long was 0.47 millon tonnes, surged by 67 percent compared to the corresponding period last year.

The company's crude steel production for the fiscal year was 7.43 million tonnes, showing a 16 percent growth over previous year and achieving a 85 percent of the guidance for the year.

The company said the production during the year fell short of its guidance of 8.75 million tonnes, as it had to scale down its production due to scarcity of iron ore consequent to imposition of ban on iron ore mining in the State of Karnataka by Supreme Court.

Rolled products-flat production during the year stood at 5.36 million tonnes, an increased of nine percent over last year, whereas Rolled products-long was 1.52 million tonnes, higher by 34 percent from last year.

At the BSE, JSW Steel shares are currently trading at Rs., up percent from the previous close.

At the BSE, JSW Steel shares are currently trading at Rs.700.90, up 1.95 percent from the previous close.
