Romania's producer prices for the industrial sector increased 5.8 percent year-on-year in March, the latest figures from the National Institute of Statistics showed Thursday.
Prices for the manufacturing sector also grew 5.8 percent annually, while there was a 3.2 percent gain in producer prices in the mining industry.
Costs involved in the production of electricity, gas, water and air conditioning increased 4.8 percent from a year earlier.
Energy industry recorded a 11.3 percent rise in producer prices. In capital goods industry, prices increased 3.6 percent. Intermediate goods prices rose 3.1 percent and that for durable goods rose 1.6 percent.
Month-on-month, the overall PPI increased 1 percent after 0.8 percent rise in February.
