Brad Bird ("The Incredibles," "Ratatouille") will direct the upcoming Disney flick, "1952." Bird was last in the chair for 2011's "Mission: Impossible—Ghost Protocol," which grossed almost $700 million globally.

Deadline has reported that the script is being kept tightly under wraps for what is expected to be Disney's next big thing.

However, the movie's website notes that it has "multi-platform aspirations" and that it will be in the science fiction genre. The site also says that production may begin sometime next year.

DisneyMovieList.com speculated further:

". . . one might deduce that the film with [sic] have some sort of tie in with incidents in Roswell, New Mexico."

Damon Lindelof ("Lost" co-creator) and Jeff Jensen wrote the script for "1952"; Lindelof is also producing.
