The Japanese yen extended its rally against other major currencies in New York trading on Friday.
The yen touched a 3-day high of 79.83 against the greenback, more than 2-week highs of 104.93 against the euro, 87.37 against the franc and 80.34 against the loonie.
Against the aussie and the kiwi, the yen approached new multi-month highs of 81.32 and 63.43, respectively.
