Qualstar Corp. (QBAK) said Wednesday that it has appointed Lawrence Firestone as Chief Executive Officer and President to succeed William Gervais, who will retire as of June 15.
Firestone will commence his new position by June 4.
Firestone, 54, joined Qualstar's Board in May 2011 and will continue to serve as a director of the company.
Firestone has over 30 years of operations and financial management experience in global public and private companies, including significant turnaround and M&A expertise. Until he commences his new duties with Qualstar, he will continue in his current position as the Chief Financial Officer of Xiotech Corp., a position he has held since February 2011. From 2006 to 2010, Firestone was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Advanced Energy Industries, Inc.
