Lionel Richie's hot selling country duets record, Tuskegee, has been certified platinum by the R.I.A.A. after moving one million copies one-and-a-half months after its March 26 release.

In addition to the four weeks Tuskegee has been number one on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart, the disc has spent two weeks atop the Billboard 200.

Currently, Tuskegee is the top selling country album of 2012 and the first country album to stay at number one for two successive weeks atop the Billboard 200.

Tuskegee also reached number one spot in Canada as well as the U.S., marking the first time he has done so since 1983's Can't Slow Down, his all time best seller.

Richie joins Ray Charles as one of the two artists in Billboard history to have number one LP on both the country and R&B/hip-hop albums charts.
