My Cross to Bear, the Gregg Allman memoir, will be supported by a corresponding book-signing tour as the long time Allman Band axeman has been cleared by doctors of the likelihood of risks to his recently strained heart.
Allman passed a series of heart tests at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida last week—a propitious achievement considering the book was made available to the public just prior to that occasion.
He did, however, have to cancel scheduled appearances on The Colbert Report and Piers Morgan Tonight. The tour was, in effect, pushed back to May 8.
In addition, Allman's band will begin a brief tour this summer starting at the All Good Festival in Thornville, Ohio on July 21.
The book signing dates are as follows:
5/10 - Nashville, Tenn., BMI Building
5/12 - Chicago, Ill., Costco (Costco membership required)
