Demi Lovato has reportedly signed on to appear as a judge on the upcoming season of the U.S. edition "X Factor." The 19-year-old singer will fill one of two positions left by the exiting Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger, reports tmz.com.
Lovato was reportedly in direct competition with Miley Cyrus for the job and beat out the former "Hannah Montana" star. The news comes amidst rumors that Britney Spears has also signed a lucrative deal to appear on the show. In addition to her reported "X Factor" gig, Demi also made headlines when she spoke on her substance abuse.
Speaking with Fabulous Magazine, she explained how industry insiders often furnished her with drugs and alcohol:
"Promoters gave me drugs and alcohol in restaurants or clubs. They wanted me to come back so I would be seen there. They were basically kissing my ass," she explained.
