Channing Tatum is considering a role in the upcoming political thriller, "White House Down." The Roland Emmerich ("Hell," "2012") directed flick centers on a Secret Service agent (Tatum) in whose hands the fate of the White House lies.
In the film, a group of ne'er-do-wells overtake the White House, a proposition with which the plucky Service agent is not at all pleased. The agent is also said to be a single dad; there is however no word on how that fact impacts the plot.
James Vanderbilt ("The Amazing Spider-Man) wrote the script of the Sony Pictures distributed film.
For his part, Tatum has had a busy 2012 with the release of several of his vehicles: "The Vow," "Magic Mike," "21 Jump Street" and the follow up to "G.I. Joe," "G.I. Joe: Retaliation."
